Building Rome's Colosseum

I have posted a video from the national geographic channel, about building Rome's colosseum. I really enjoyed watching this video. I thought that it was very interesting to watch. It was really insightful. It has also helped me with my artwork. Looking at the drawings the presenter made really helped. It would have been nice to see the Colosseum in whole in present day.

Slow And Steady Wins The Race

So my drawing of the colosseum is going along nicely, its not quite finished yet, as I have been fairly busy. But it will be worth it in the end when it’s all done. Just like they say slow and steady wins the race. J

It's Begun!!!

I have finally started to draw again! Here I have started on my project from my trip to Rome. This is  my pencil drawing of the colosseum. I know its doesn’t look good now, but what do you expect from some one who hasn’t drawn in over a year. Besides its not even finished yet. I cant wait to see what it looks like. With my drawings I have noticed that I like to pay attention to detail. I look for any lines in the brickwork that I can see and I will draw them. This is what I love about this drawing so far. It’s not like normal colosseum drawings I have paid more detail to the brickwork.

To Cold To Work :(

Its this time of year again winter is almost here, and with it is the cold. My house is just like the outside freezing. Even though the heaters on, the cold seems to beat it every time. I’ve started drawing, which is a good start, but now my hands are so cold it even hurts to draw and type. :( Oh well time to stop complaining and to get on with it,  pictures will be uploaded shortly.

Oh Rome..Eo Oh Rome..Eo

A few years back I went on holiday to Rome. I have always wanted to go there since I first saw the film Roman Holiday, starring Audrey Hepburn. Who is one of my favourite actresses. Whilst there I got to visit most of the historic sights, such as the collessum, the Trevi fountain, the Spanish steps and many more. At university I wanted to create my own project, which I was going to base on Rome. Since I never got the chance to do, I have decided I am going to do it. I’m thinking of using a variety of different mediums and create a lot of experimentation. For the outcome of this project, I would like to make a sort of scrapbook a memory of my time and visit there. So be prepared to see a lot of work.

Welcome Back To The World Of Art!

For someone who loves art, I haven’t had a chance to make any recently. I say recently I mean more of a year and a half. Since I graduated from university. I threw my self into work. I got so used to earning money I had completely forgotten who I was. My creative roots became buried, and I felt like I was lost. My appearance also changed. I was no longer the girl with creative fashion, or hair colour. I would style my hair in different ways; instead I became the girl with the uniform, normal hair colour and hair in a pony tale.  Like I had just talked about I was completely lost, working crazy hours, and I never got the chance to draw. Now I have more free time so I would like to start drawing again and start a little project. Looking through my blog, I noticed that I didn’t really have any pictures posted on there so no one could see how my work was progressing. So I’m going to make a few changes and try to post daily if not weekly. Thank you all for being patient.

Hand and Lock Competition

The project this term was to do a competition . The competition I decided to do was Hand & Locks Past is Present Competition. This competition was about combining different themes from different ereas. I decided to mix 1970's Glam rock with 18th century fashion.
